Get a partner in crime for your walk

Yeah, we all know walking is great exercise for heart health. No news flash there. And walking with a friend or two can be very helpful motivation: it's harder to blow off a walk when you are meeting someone. But did you know buddy walking can also help you measure your level of exertion? It's called the talk test, and presumably you talk to your walking partner (unless you get into a fight or something on your stroll.) The CDC recommends measuring moderate intensity exercise this way: you should be breathing harder, but still able to carry on a conversation. So go ahead and motormouth your way into better health.
