All about childhood obesity

Kids need lots of calories to support their growing bodies but it seems that for many, they're getting too many calories -- 30% of kids are overweight and 10% or clinically obese. Kids who are obese or overweight in their younger years are at risk for a whole bunch of problems later in life, so it's important to make sure that your child is a healthy weight.

How do you know if your child is overweight? Use the Children and Teen's BMI calculator. Also? Look for the signs. A lack of activity is a big one -- if your child isn't physically active for at least an hour a day, there could be a problem.

Here's a great resource from AOL if you suspect your child might be overweight or obese.
